A vibrant, Spirit-filled Catholic community with historic roots in Caroline County, St. Benedict/St. Elizabeth currently serves over 1100 local Catholics. Continuing a tradition that spans over 150 years, St. Benedict/St. Elizabeth is a community of faith, mutual respect and support which strives to be welcoming to all. The parish celebrates and worships in its 2 churches: St. Benedict on Central Avenue in Ridgely and St. Elizabeth of Hungary, located on the corner of 1st & Franklin Sts. in downtown Denton. The Parish Family Life Center in Ridgely contains a small Chapel, administrative offices, social hall and 10 religious education classrooms. The parish provides for the religious education of children in grades K -10 and is actively involved in the local community through its support of various activities and outreach efforts. All of our parish properties are accessible to those who use wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc... Our commitment to Jesus Christ and His mission which we seek to follow could be summed up using our simple parish motto: “This is who we are. This is what we do. We give it our all. MAY IS THE MONTH OF OUR BLESSED MOTHER, MARY. If you have a statue of Mary, move it to give it a special place of honor this month. If you don’t have one, consider getting one. Bring her the best of your garden flowers. Make a special effort to pray the rosary or other Marian prayers at home. Say ‘YES” to that decision before you that might be a little frightening.
Alleluia! He is risen! Happy Easter! Celebrate with us at mass at 7:15a.m. or 8:30a.m. at St. Benedict Church or 11:15a.m. at St. Elizabeth Church. An Easter Egg Hunt for children in grade 2 and younger will take place after the 8:30a.m. Mass in Ridgely.

Today is Good Friday. The Ecumenical Cross Walk begins at Noon at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Denton. The second stop on the walk will be St. Elizabeth Church. Stations of the Cross will take place at 3:00p.m. at St. Benedict Church. The Service of the Lord's Passion and Veneration of the Cross will be at 7:00p.m. at St. Benedict Church.
Today is Holy Thursday. Join us for a covered dish supper at 5:00p.m. in the Parish Hall followed by the Mass of the Lord's Supper at 7:00p.m. at St. Benedict Church.
The Chrism Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church in Dover, DE tonight at 7:00p.m. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
